The Foamax service team provides comprehensive services for the replacement of foaming agents containing PFOA/PFOS compounds with non-fluorinated concentrates of the AR-SFFF / NFF type.

According to the following legal basis*, as of January 1, 2023, the use of firefighting foam that contains or may contain PFOA, its salts or PFOS-derived compounds is allowed only in areas where any release is inhibited.  This means that foam concentrates with C8 (PFOA/PFOS) or older (PFCA - C9-C14) fluorocarbon compounds in their composition are not suitable for further use and are eligible for replacement as of January 1, 2023.

According to current legal information, the European Union is already processing a draft regulation on C6 chemical content (PFHxA/PFHxS) and setting limits on it in products. Planned implementation of the regulations: 2025-2027.

FOAMAX, as a pioneer in the fire protection industry, offers the ability to perform tests to verify the content of the chemical compounds discussed above (C6/C8/C9-C14) and to determine whether (or not) the regulatory limits discussed above are exceeded.

In addition, FOAMAX offers comprehensive services related to the replacement of concentrates with non-fluorinated ones:

- comprehensive selection of concentrate and apparatus for an existing plant,

- delivery of suitable products and their physical replacement on site,

- confirmation of the correct operation of the installation by performing a dosing concentration test (if the installation is technically possible).

• Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 of the European Parliament and of the Council of June 20, 2019 on persistent organic pollutants;
• Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1000 of June 13, 2017 amending Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regarding perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts and related substances;
• Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/1297 of August 4, 2021 amending Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to perfluorinated carboxylic acids containing 9 to 14 carbon atoms in the chain (PFCA C9-C14), their salts and PFCA C9-C14 related substances;
